What We Do

Twelve Maine employers — including WEX, IDEXX Laboratories, Inc., MaineHealth, Maine Medical Center, and Tyler Technologies, Inc. — are committing to recruiting and hiring candidates based on their demonstrated technology skills regardless of where they gained them. Project>Login, a program within non-profit Educate Maine, will receive over $150,000 in support from corporations and public and private universities and colleges to further their work in getting more Maine citizens into these technology jobs. In addition, over 20 employers — including WEX, IDEXX Laboratories, the State of Maine, the Jackson Laboratory, and Activision Blizzard —have projected they will have hired 140 paid interns in 2015, and Project>Login is promoting those paid internships to draw a larger and more diverse group toward these pathways.

Laurie Marcotte, Senior Project Manager, IDEXX Laboratories

Laurie was born and raised  in Southern Maine, where she has continued to reside throughout her life. For nearly a decade she worked in a local restaurant. When they closed down she attended Andover College and obtained her associates degree in Office Management. In 1999 she came to IDEXX as an Administrative Assistant, working in the office of the CEO. Her obvious intuition with computers lead her to the Help Desk where she worked her way from an analyst position, to the Supervisor role within only two years. Over her 16 year career at IDEXX she has held several roles within IT, including her current position as a Senior Project Manager.
