The TechHire Network Has Grown to Seventy-One Communities Nationwide!
Twenty new communities have been added to the network this month, and they are all working to ignite local economic growth and increase opportunities for their residents.
For the past year and a half, TechHire communities across the country have been helping overlooked and underrepresented Americans start technology careers. Together, 51 communities, over 400 partners and 1300+ employers have placed over 4,000 people into tech jobs. Read more below!
We’re proud to share the exciting news that 30% of GE’s first hires came through TechHire Rhode Island.
Aligned with our mission promoting hiring based on mastery, not pedigree, none of these first TechHires had ‘a traditional path’ to a career in coding like a 4-year computer science degrees. But they now have well paying tech careers in Providence.
As Joe Carey, Senior Talent Partner for GE Digital Technology Recruiting explained, “Our partnership with TechHireRI helped GE Digital reach candidates that we hadn’t found through traditional recruiting methods and brought us unique candidates with diverse backgrounds.”
