San Diego

What We Do

San Diego is home to one of the largest Information and Communications Technology (ICT) clusters in the nation, employing well-over 40,000 workers in middle- and high-skilled occupations. At the same time, there are approximately 60,000 unemployed persons between the ages 17-29 in San Diego County, and over 30,000 total veterans under the age of 35. With this backdrop the City is creating a network of opportunities based on a robust tech training community supported by nonprofit partners and community colleges. Supported by the San Diego Workforce Partnership, San Diego’s TechHire Initiative utilizes active local leadership to create an innovation ecosystem with an unprecedented level of private and public collaboration focused on matching the needs of San Diego’s robust ICT sector with enhanced training opportunities for Veterans and low-income San Diegans.
